【For TUAT members】Partial changes of services from May 6th (Koganei library)

From May 6th 2021, some services of Koganei Library have been changed. Please confirm the following information before your visit.
Please note that we may change the services depending on the situations.
Please see here for the services of Fuchu Library.

<Changes>

・Sub stacks room is available as usual.

・Group study rooms are only available for online classes and interviews that require conversations.
(Application in advance is required.)

・We will provide materials necessary for your study and research at home. Eligible users are those who cannot come to the library to prevent infection.

・After the second day of the termination date of the declaration of a state of emergency, opening hours on weekdays will be changed to 8:45-19:00.

Eligible users
Faculty, staff, and students of TUAT ※Users not affiliated with TUAT cannot enter the library.

Conditions for using the library

・Those having any physical discomfort, or not wearing a face mask cannot enter the library.

・Please wash your hands, disinfect your hands with hand sanitizer, and follow proper coughing etiquette.

・You are required to disinfect your hands with hand sanitizer provided at the entrance.

・Admission may be restricted depending on the congestion.

・Please refrain from having conversations between users and keep an appropriate distance away from others in the library.

・Please refrain from staying for a long time unnecessary.

Usage of reading seats, facilities, and equipment

・Reading seats in 1F of the reading room and 1F - 2F of the North building are available. (The number of reading seats are reduced)

・Come to the service counter first and we will assign your seat. Please use only the designated seats.

・Copy machines, on-demand printers, OPAC terminals, and Wi-Fi services are available as usual.

・Group study rooms are only available for online classes and interviews that require conversations.
(Application in advance is required. Please see here for details.)

※ Online classes without conversation are available in 1F of the reading room and 1F-2F of the North building areas.

Following areas are suspended for the time being.
2F of the Reading room, 3F of the North building, Periodicals room

Borrowing and reading library materials
Materials in the Reading room, Browsing corner, Audio-visual corner, B1F and 2F of the North building, Sub stacks room are available.

However, in order to borrow or read materials and newspapers held in suspended areas such as Periodicals room, please submit an application form to the library service counter. Library staff will retrieve the requested materials from stacks. We will let you know when the materials are ready, so please be seated and wait for a while.

※ Depending on congestion, it may take some time. Please apply well in advance.

Returning library materials
In order to avoid close contacts and prevent infection, please return library materials to the book post. However, books borrowed from other libraries and audiovisual materials must be returned to the service counter.

For the time being, returned materials are kept in a storage area to be left in isolation for a specific period of time for disinfection before going back to the shelf. Please note that they may not be available immediately after return.

Users who cannot come to the library can also return materials of TUAT library by mail or parcel delivery service. See here for further information.
