The library services during the temporary closure (For TUAT members) ※5/29 up

To prevent spreading the Novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the service of TUAT Library(Fuchu, Koganei)during the temporary closure are partly suspended as below. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
We may change the period and services depending on the situations.

Providing materials held in TUAT library (For users who have student ID cards or staff ID cards)

<Period for acceptance>
 Students:May 28th Until the campus entry restrictions are lifted
 Faculty & Staff:April 30th Until the declaration of a state of emergency is lifted

We will provide materials necessary for e-learning and research at home.
Fill in the form with required information to apply. Materials will be sent to you by post to your home or to the laboratory box via the campus mail. The library will cover postage fee, copy fee, and print-out fee. Please try to apply at one time to save the cost.
It may take some while since there are only limited number of staff. Please contact us well in advance.

(1) Borrowing books (Excluding journals and reference books)

Application Form(Fuchu library / Koganei Library

Up to 3 books per person. Up to 6 books are borrowable through this service.(Can't exceed 10 books in total including books borrowed while the library was open.)

Please apply within 3 books at one time for the sake of packing.

We have broadened the limit of borrowable books in accordance to the extension of period for acceptance.

・Please check if the material is available in TUAT in advance via Online Catalog(TUAT) and apply from the application form above. Those who have overdue materials are not able to borrow books. 

(2) Photocopying books and journals / Print-outs of E-Journals under contract with TUAT

Application Form(Fuchu library / Koganei Library)  ※Up to 10 per person in total

Only for the purposes of academic research and private study, a single copy of each page will be made within the scope of copyright law.

  • Photocopying books and journals
    Please check if the material is available in TUAT in advance via Online Catalog(TUAT) and apply from the application form above.
  • Print-outs of E-Journals under contract with TUAT

To request print-outs of E-Journals or if you are not able to access to E-Journals listed below from off-campus, check if the E-journal is under contract with TUAT in advance via Publication Finder and apply from the application form above. (Sending PDF files are prohibited by copyright law.)

Requesting photocopies from other libraries (only available by public expense)

・Please check if the material is not available in TUAT in advance via Online Catalog(TUAT), and apply from [MyOPAC] > [User Service] > [InterLibraryLoan/Photocopy Request] (How to login to MyOPAC). The cost for ordering photocopies from other libraries will be borne by public expense as usual.

・Copied documents will be sent to you by post to your home or to the laboratory box via the campus mail. Please enter your delivery address (mailing address or laboratory box) to the “Comments” field. Postage fee to send the documents to your home will be covered by the library.

・Due to the spread of new coronavirus infection, it may take some while than usual.

・During the temporary closure, requesting photocopies from other libraries by private expense and borrowing books from other libraries are suspended.

Return

From June 1st, materials can be returned to the book post in front of the library at all times. You can also return them by mail or parcel delivery service that provides a tracking number record to prove shipment. Please pack materials appropriately so that they will not be damaged in transit. Borrowers are responsible for postage.
Please contact the library if you want to return books borrowed from other libraries and audiovisual materials.

<Due dates>

・Faculty & Staff
Due date for all books borrowed in the period of the Long-term book borrowing during the spring break or from April 3rd to May 15th will be extended to June 1st. Due date for books borrowed on or after May 18th will be as usual.
Please return them after the library have reopened.

・Students
Due date for all books borrowed in the period of the Long-term book borrowing during the spring break or from April 3rd to May 15th June 2nd will be extended to June 1st June 17th. Due date for books borrowed on or after May 18th June 3rd will be as usual.
Please return them after the library have reopened.

Reservation

You can reserve books out on loan via MyOPAC, but they will be available after the library reopens.
