Support for Open Access

Under the University's e-journal subscription agreements, authors may be eligible for support or discounts on the Article Processing Charge (APC) when publishing articles as Open Access. (2026)

  • Eligibility：At the time of initiating the OA publishing procedure, the applicant, who must be the Corresponding Author*, must be affiliated with the university.**
  • Cost to Authors：If you publish in a journal for which APC support is available, the APC will be covered by the university. For journals offering APC discounts, the author is responsible for paying the APC after the discount is applied.
  • Important Notes：Please submit your manuscript and complete OA publishing procedures using an email address that includes the “tuat.ac.jp” domain. If you have any questions regarding OA submission procedures (such as online form entry), please contact the publisher directly.
    The library cannot submit manuscripts on behalf of authors and therefore cannot verify the submission procedure.

*If there are multiple corresponding authors, eligibility is determined based solely on the applicant’s information.

**If the applicant is not affiliated with the university at the time of application, they are not eligible.

    ・The Corresponding Author must be affiliated with the University and submit the paper with the University as their primary institutional affiliation.

    ・At the time of submission, the e-mail address domain must include "tuat.ac.jp" (if an article is submitted from another domain name, it will not be eligible for ACM Open, and revisions, etc., cannot be made at a later date, so please use the proper domain name).

    ・After the article is accepted, the author must click “Apply Discounts” on the APC payment page via the link provided in the acceptance email, and select “Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology” under the “Affiliation Discount” section.
